As believer’s we have a right to live a long and satisfying life. But God never intended for us to meet those goals and accomplishments through the realm of the flesh, through diets and exercise alone. He called us to meet those goals and to obtain those accomplishments by faith because we’re given the measure of faith. We’re children of faith, we’re born in the image of God. Everything you see was created from faith. God spoke it, it came into existence – it’s made out of His faith. He wants us to take His Word and speak it into existence and change our circumstances. That is the difference between just dieting and exercising, and what God revealed to me to free me from bondage. You can learn how to take your faith, change your eating and exercise habits and go from faith to fit.
Gain Knowledge
You can have food and nutrition and exercise knowledge, and that’s good, but the most important knowledge you need to gain is the knowledge of God.
2 Corinthians 10:3 says that even though we walk in the flesh, we don’t war after the flesh. We may live in this society where temptation bombards us from every area, but if we can know God in His Word, we can know healthy eating is based on Genesis 1:29, and what God says is good to eat, and we can know there is life in exercise. God set before us life and death and He said to choose life. If we know what the Word of God says, that those imaginations that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God can be cast down. (2 Cor 10:4-5). But we have to have the knowledge of God.
This is where I had missed it years ago. I didn’t have any knowledge of God in this area. I didn’t know the Bible had anything in it on healthy eating or life in exercise. But as I began to seek the Lord and seek His will and His provision, He began to show me these revelations – like training your senses to discern good and evil.
Research shows that if you eat healthy foods for an extended period of time (not 3 days), you can train you senses to actually enjoy those foods. I had to find scriptures that related to my eating and exercise habits. So we have to gain knowledge of God’s Word if we are going to have knowledge to cast down imaginations, like when your body is telling you that you need those chips or that fried chicken or cookies, or whatever it is. You have to know what Genesis 1:29 says is good to eat. And you have to know that the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made you free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2). You have to have scriptures that you have fed into your spirit that can come out of your mouth so you can cast down those imaginations.
2 Peter 1:3 says, “…his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness.” What pertains to life? Healthy eating and exercise. He gives those things through the knowledge of Him. God designed us to get victory, get a blessing. He designed us to get prosperity, health. How? Through knowing Him. The way He created us is the way He desires an intimate relationship with us. He wants intimacy with us. So you can have every promise He has promised you. You have a covenant right to it. God wants you to have it. But He designed it that if there is something out there in the unseen realm, in the realm of the spirit, you’re going to have to have faith to bring that unseen thing into the natural realm. And how do you get that faith? By hearing the Word of God. And what is the Word of God? It’s God Himself. (John 1:1) It’s relationship with God.
