Online Fitness Log

I’ve been asked to contribute to 365 Fitness and I’m really excited about it - they have a lot of interesting information and links and I’ve had a lot of fun exploring the site! I’ve had a blog for a few months before - some of the content I went ahead and imported in and other things I’ll probably talk about again at some point. But I’d like to start off by reposting my original intro post - it’s a bit more formal since I was first feeling my way, but it’ll give people a chance to see where I’m coming from! Hey all you fitness buffs out there. Or, fitness buff wannabes. I was there once, trust me. In fact, that is the reason I decided to start this blog. For most of my life, I lost the battle of the bulge. I tried a lot of diets that worked for a little while, but the minute I stopped dieting, I stopped maintaining my new size. It was frustrating because I would lose weight and go shopping to show off my new figure only to gain the weight back and end up with a closet full o...

My Workout Routine

While 3 workouts a week is both a great place to start and great for maintaining an intermediate to advanced fitness level, there seems to be something powerful about each additional workout for losing weight and changing your body. Getting an unfit body fit quite honestly requires some hard work. My personal advice to people desiring to lose weight or reshape their body is to work out aerobically a minimum of 4 days a week including weight training on at least 2 of those days. For some, I go on to recommend that they just go ahead and work out aerobically 5 times, Monday through Friday, for even faster results. Really, I have found that for many people, forming the habit of working out during the workweek on consecutive days is easier than breaking on Wednesday and starting back on Thursday. This also allows taking the weekend off. It seems easier to take on the mind-set of doing it every day, achieving your fitness goals faster, and then cutting back to a 3-day maintenance progra...

Covenant Children

Marty Copeland breathed a contented sigh as she climbed onto the exam table in preparation for a sonogram. Her husband, John, held her hand and laughed at the antics of their 4-year-old daughter, Courtney. “I’m gonna see our baby!” Courtney beamed as she made the announcement. “That’s right, honey,” Marty said. “We’re all going to see our baby.” Courtney was a living, loving, wiggling, giggling testimony to the goodness of God. Many times over the past few years, just looking at Courtney had given Marty the strength to hang on to her faith for more children. It had been with a sense of divine destiny that Marty had married John, Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s only son. Marty and John desired to have a large family. Not only that, they were also acutely aware that the Copeland name would end with John unless Marty gave birth to a son. She and John stood on the Word of God and released their faith for children. At every meal, John prayed, “Father, I thank You that Marty’s preg...

Knowing God in Your Health Goals

As believer’s we have a right to live a long and satisfying life.  But God never intended for us to meet those goals and accomplishments through the realm of the flesh, through diets and exercise alone.  He called us to meet those goals and to obtain those accomplishments by faith because we’re given the measure of faith.  We’re children of faith, we’re born in the image of God.  Everything you see was created from faith.  God spoke it, it came into existence – it’s made out of His faith.  He wants us to take His Word and speak it into existence and change our circumstances.  That is the difference between just dieting and exercising, and what God revealed to me to free me from bondage.  You can learn how to take your faith, change your eating and exercise habits and go from faith to fit.  Gain Knowledge You can have food and nutrition and exercise knowledge, and that’s good, but the most important knowledge you need to gain is the know...

God’s Power is Available!

I want you to know how to use exercise to not only benefit the health of your body, but also to train and discipline your senses. As you use physical activity such as aerobic exercise, weight training or walking to exercise your faith and develop the fruit of the Spirit in your life, it will open the door for the anointing of God to help you. It will change exercise from something that may not seem all that valuable into a time of worship and fellowship with God. As you learn to take physical exercise and turn it into an exercise of your faith, you release the power of God, the anointing of God, to help you work out. That’s what makes the difference. It’s the anointing of God that removes your burdens and destroys your yokes. It’s the anointing of God that will set you free and keep you free. I’m sharing this good news as a witness of someone who God has supernaturally delivered from the bondage of overeating. It’s good news that Jesus is the Christ – the Anointed One. And as a m...
